Tteoobl 318 Waterproof case for camera - (Product Review)

DX.com – DealExtreme The Tteoobl 318 20-Meter Outdoors Diving Waterproof Case for Camera w/ Neck Strap - Black has been purchased from the dx.com website and is quite cheap. The waterproof case comes with a neck strap and all in a box shipped to you in a matter of a few weeks.

Pros:

Cheap- it is sold at only $12.10 which is actually very cheap since you do not have to buy a waterproof camera and can use your own point and shoot camera with this product with a very low investment.

Secure- With the use of the neck strap, you can swim freely among the fish and be free of your movements. You can then grab the camera when you are ready for a shot and afterwards just drop it and let it hang around your neck while you continue exploring the underwater beauty of the lagoon.

Picture Quality- The picture quality is very good compared to other products where the image gets blurred.

Use: Very easy to use, all you need to do is open the 3 screws and push your camera inside and tighten them back. Then, test to see if water goes inside. If everything is fine, you can start using it. To access the camera trigger, a finger compartment is provided in the design. You can shoot your pictures easily.

Camera Models: It is designed normally for Lumia but I have tried it also with a Nikon Coolpix and it works fine. Should work with most point and shoot small camera having a zoom function.

Cons:

Size- The camera is a bit loose inside but it can accommodate several models though.

Material- The material looks durable but the opening/closing system seems a bit fragile and will not last for years but for that price it will last at least for 2 years.

So here is a small video of the unboxing of the product:

Video:

Bottom line:The product does what it says. It is cost-effective compared to buying a waterproof camera. It is a worthy purchase but maybe it should have been an under $10s product.

The product is available at the following link:

World Photography Day - 19th August

Billions of pictures taken, printed, shared.. The legacy of a genius by the name of Joseph Nicéphore Niépce who invented the firs. Much later, Thomas Sutton took the first color picture in 1861. Here is an image illustration of cameras through the years:

Source: http://blog.epicedits.com/2010/11/23/the-rise-and-fall-of-digital-and-film/

Today, cameras are found on phones, in buildings, on the road, in vehicles, nearly everywhere. We are constantly being watched or constantly immortalizing moments and putting them online where they are shared, copied, edited and will probably remain till the end of the internet.

The first permanent photograph ever taken.

And above the first color picture ever taken is that of a multi-colored ribbon.

Below is a very funny photo evolution of photographers from masscovers.com , most start on their foot and as they become more and more entangled in the photography hobby they go down all the way ! :)

keep tuned for the next article :D

Photography & Camera in Mauritius

Mauritians are known to be always looking for new stuffs, and the past decade has been the decade of photography vulgarization. The photo taking and publishing has become a hobby for a lot of persons in Mauritius the last decade. Whether they publish the pictures on the web, or share with families, the photography sector has developed extensively.
Pictures show sometimes what someone cannot describe in 1000 words. The use of pictures on blogs, social networks, online media or newspapers have been greatly increased the past decade. One of the main reasons for that are as follows:
  • Pictures can be taken from mobile phones and mobile phones are always with the users
  • Pictures are easy and cheap to catch a moment compared to the painting of a tableau
  • Imaging devices are cheaper and more powerful compared to the pre-2000 period

Also, in Mauritius, there are a lot of viewpoints and superb landscapes for nice pictures. The fauna and flora of the island is very rich in diversity. Many persons are very passionate about the photography world came together into one club called the Photographes amateurs et Pros Mauriciens.
The price of those big cameras with a lot of functions and taking super nice pictures are quite expensive in Mauritius for the time being. I would suggest you to start trying your luck on the best deals of amazon.com above and maybe you will find the one which is more adapted to your needs.
But as would say an army guy, this gun is mine.. there are many other guns.. but this one is mine.. this is my gun. For the photographer or the one who is passionate about taking pictures even from a mobile phone he would probably say, this camera is mine.. there are many other cameras.. but this one is mine.. this is my camera.
However, if you are just starting in the photography, you would not want to spend a lot of money. Then the Flip UltraHD would be the best one for you. It is one of the cheapest on the market and you can do video and stop the videos and taken uncountable pictures out of the videos using VLC media player. That's a tip. Wish you all the best in the camera world.
And remember,
The camera is nothing without the photographer, and the photographer is nothing without the camera.

On the traces of the Dutch

One of the main attractions of the south should have been the Dutch ruins, but little have been done to preserve this special place where the dutch stepped first on the Mauritian soil compared to what is presently done for the apravasi ghat. The Dutch named the island Prins Maurits van Nassaueiland after the stadtholder of Holland, Prince Maurits.
[Holland is Netherlands]
Comparing the Legacy of Indentured laborers to the Legacy of the Dutch:
The Dutch deserved more than that !!
  • They brought sugar cane to Mauritius without which Mauritius economy wouldn't have even existed.
  • They killed the Dodo which made Mauritius famous for its dodo.
  • But the most important they gave us the name of the island Mauritius ! which makes all of us MAURITIANS !!!.. Ain't that a legacy enough that the Dutch Ruins should be listed on the UNESCO list ??

Pieces of History
Recalling from what i learned from the stupid Environmental Studies Textbook from primary education, the 1st governor of Mauritius was Sir John Shaw Rennie, However, laying a new view on those pieces of history than at the time we were sponfed with information to vomit at exams; I came to understand that the 1st governor of Mauritius was not british, nor french, nor mauritian ! ..

The first governor of Mauritius was Cornelius Gooyer.
The 2nd governor of Mauritius was Adrian Van Der Stel.
The 3rd governor of Mauritius was Jacob Van Der Meersh.
The 4th governor of Mauritius was Reinier Por.
The 5th governor of Mauritius was Dirk Jansz Smient.
The 6th governor of Mauritius was George Frederik Wreeden.
The 7th governor of Mauritius was Hubert Hugo.
The 8th governor of Mauritius was Issac Johannes Lamotius.
The 9th governor of Mauritius was Roelof Deodati.
The 10th and last Dutch governor of Mauritius was Abraham Momber Van de Velde.
He was eventually the last of a long reign of 10 governors who administered the island and which is resumed by only 2 paragraphs in the E.V.S textbook.
Whereby, it is summarized that the dutch came first and couldn't stay because of rats and cyclones and left. They later came back and didn't have much success with their crops and deserted the island again.
Sorry for the E.V.S author at the time, but it was blatant lies that were fed to the students who would then think that the Dutch were good for nothing and it was the French and British who were the great achievers of Mauritius.

[Courtesy of Mehnaz]
If, obama talks about the founding fathers of U.S.A, then we should also be recalled that the founding fathers of Mauritius were the Dutch. I went on the trace of those forgotten memories.

The Highest Bridge on Earth

PhotobucketPhotobucket
The Millau Viaduct is part of the new E11 expressway connecting Paris and Barcelona
and features the highest bridge piers ever constructed. The tallest is 240 metres (787 feet) high and the overall height is an impressive 336 metres (1102 feet), making this the highest bridge in the world. It's taller than the Eiffel Tower ..Interestingly, the Millau Viaduct is not
straight. Why?
It's because a straight road could induce a floating sensation as
you drive across it.Photobucket So, a slight curve remedies that feeling. The curve is 20km in range.
Moreover, the road has a light incline of 3% to improve the visibility and reassure the driver.
An amazing engineering feat!

The pictures have been taken from the Signal Mountain [ Montagne Signaux ] Sorry for the quality of the pictures friend.. had only my mobile phone with me !! lolzz.. And the pictures won't be able to show the amazing scenery of Port louis but can only give you a glimpse of it :)
