Blog Re-initialized, Mauritius politics going crazy!

4 years nearly since my baby was born amidst the turmoil of the 2014 general election voting day. Since then, true to say priorities changed but I also gave some credits to the lepep government and kept faith sooner or later something good would eventually crop up.

4 years later - the lepep government has already exploded and only 2 parties, correct me if i am wrong, are leading the government today.
We all know what happened in the end which is also a new beginning for others. These events however should however open the eyes of the Mauritians.

None of our elected opposition parties felt the need or responsibility to do this. Therefore their "lacheter" confirms to me that they all form part of a big cartel.. They have been here for more than 5 decades - including so-called alternative parties..

Changing things won't be easy and at some point in time we can even ask ourselves, would it be worth it?

Electoral Campaign - Conventional or Campaign 2.0 ? #Mauritius

The dissolution of the assembly having been announced already, the parliamentary elections are close. The date, however, has not yet been disclosed. Being a fine strategist, the prime minister probably will take his time to disclose the date.

But why?

Simply because first he wanted to see if people are happy with his alliance with the ex-leader of the opposition and if the same people would be joining their ranks in number. It did NOT happen. To date, on a scale of probability, it seems around half of the population is still undecided on which side to support.
Second, due to the high number of candidates since both parties can have 60 candidates, a lot of talking needs to be done to avoid any frustrations and to give "guarantees" to some !. So it seems.

Who are the contenders to the parliamentary seats ?

The lists of candidates and parties have not yet been publicly declared but here are some who seem to be going for the elections:
  • FSM
  • JEUNE PATRIOTE MAURICIEN
  • LALIT
  • MAM
  • MMSD
  • MSM - PMSD - ML
  • PARTI JUSTICE SOCIALE - UNION POPULAIRE
  • PARTI MALIN
  • PTR - MMM
  • REZISTANCE EK ALTERNATIVE
  • THE LIBERALS
This time, the political campaign seems to be quite lively with the emerging parties mushrooming these days.

Some of those are known to be active only during the political campaign while some others are lead by some individuals who are known to be like tomatoes jumping in all sauces for some fame.

A political campaign if we boil it down to the essentials is NOT about banners / flags / alliances / personal attacks / distribution of money / re-surfacing of roads.

If we boil it down to the essentials, what are the elements we need in order to take the decision on which party we need to cast our votes?

We need creative ideas on how the political party will better our day to day life
We need to know what they will do for us, as a nation, during their mandate
We need to see who of those people we can trust
We need to see who of those people we think can administrate our ministries or provide for a true opposition in order and who will maintain its grounds and not join sides with the government
We need to know whether the parties we wish to vote are not asking votes only to take the power
Are the people requesting our votes reliable enough to represent our voice at the national parliament?

So many questions we need to answer ourselves to know if in our constituency we have people who are credible to be voted.

If we do NOT have anyone credible enough, what can we do ?

NOT VOTE ? No - This is the worst we could ever do.

What we need to do, is to be a candidate ourselves. Even, if it is only to show the way forward and to help others to emerge.

We are in 2014, we can no more tolerate people putting banners / tagging walls / gluing paper on our walls / putting plastic banners everywhere, etc.. We need in 2014 a modern campaign.

The people have shown their disinterest in conventional campaign by not attending the meetings of the ptr-mmm and msm-pmsd-ml.

I will end with the following lines:

It is during times like those, that we see patriots take a stand, that we feel the wind of change blowing, that we hold our breathes for a miracle. The miracle is US. Let us make it happen. - Ashfaq - 2014

The Mauritian Dream

A lot has been said about so many faults in the Mauritian system. How the politicians are pushing forward their sons and nephews and nieces to take over the political power. Bagging contracts from the government worth millions, and so on. This has become such a current thing in today Mauritius that Mauritians tend to take it as normal. The french expression explains it all,"un secret de polichinelle".

What about the Mauritian Dream ?
Few decades ago and some thousand miles away was born the expression, "The American Dream". We often hear about those words to describe the great american nation. In the definition of the American Dream by James Truslow Adams in 1931, "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement" regardless of social class or circumstances of birth. This is utterly far from being the case in Mauritius. Take a lot at the names of those who have been in power the last four decades and see how the "circumstances of birth" play a great role in Mauritius.

Achievement ?
While a lot of Mauritians do their best and climb the ladders to success. What is their percentage compared to those who use "contacts" to get to the top of ladder in a tenth of that time ?.

The Mauritian Dream
At the expense of using the rhetoric of Martin Luther King Jr., The Mauritian dream is not far from the aspirations of the Americans back then.
I have a dream for Mauritius, instead of criticizing and not proposing anything like all those politician rats do day-in day-out, here are some proposals. But again that's my Mauritian Dream, here we go:
  1. Freedom of opinion, faith and information.
  2. All youngsters should be given a land on bail at the age of 18 where they can build a house.
  3. Adoption of renewable energy as the only source of energy.
  4. 6 months of civil service for all youngsters who finish high school whether in police/fire services / other bodies.
  5. Retirement at the age of 60 years old.
  6. Intra-urban transport system in all cities and Train or LRT from East to West and North to South of the Island.
  7. A maximum of 2 mandates totaling 10 years for the post of Prime Minister. A maximum of 3 mandates totaling 15 years for the post Minister. (Whether consecutive mandates or not)
  8. School buses for each school providing to and from school to nearest bus-stop to the child's residence.
  9. All government application form systems online.
  10. Ministers should use public transport or own vehicle except on official events.
  11. Threshold to put forward a Tax  above normal percentage on high income individuals.
  12. Year round promotion of 25% discount in all hotels around the island for Mauritians.
  13. 50% discount for all nautical leisure activities as well as nature trails.
  14. A permanent committee to spot and remove all ethnic and cultural symbols from our official documents, money, etc.
  15. MBCTV using as official language the creole and if needed then translate to English and French only.
The list can become very long indeed, .. What is YOUR Mauritian dream ?

Breaking News: Nitin Chinien announces PM Ramgoolam's car to be blocked !

The singer and former animator of the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation [MBC] Nitin Chinien, announces on a video post on youtube that a crowd will block and stop the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Navinchandra Ramgoolam's car. He continued further in inviting the chairman of the MBC, Dan callikhan to put a police record.

The ex-animator of the M.B.C says that he has not been paid his salaries and 3 months' notice before being sacked and wants to get paid after 2 years of unemployment. He further states that the police cannot lay hands on him and that he is well protected by the ''ti-dimoune''.

This new episode could also somehow be some kind of drama viral video the singer and former former animator could be doing. We have no idea if what he is saying is about a real cause to get his unpaid salaries or if this is some sci-fi movie he is making using youtube.

We, however, advice user discretion!,  and wish to point out that the blog has nothing to do with the author of this video, know nothing on the motives of the person who uploaded the video on youtube.com , has no information regarding the allegations in the video and that we are publishing this solely as for entertainment purposes.

Though, we usually promote activism and freedom of information, this post is solely meant for sharing a dramatic entertainment video with no prejudice to any third parties.

Mauritius Intelligentsia and Political Cartel !

Mauritius intelligentsia has in the early days of the Independence of the Island proved to be the rebellious type. Men and Women fighting on all fronts. However, It should be pointed out that those years were those of rebellion throughout the world. We would remember Woodstock 69'. Youngsters of the baby boom after the 2nd World War had enough of all sorts of injustice and wanted to settle down things once and for all.

The masses took it down to the streets. The winds of change eventually hit Mauritius with more or less the same results. The main families who were the "architects" of the Independence of the Island are still in the reigning positions 44 years later. The same political parties are making alliances and taking the reigns each time. What did the Mauritians gain from it ?.

The most optimistic ones would probably say that we have a democracy. But, at what cost ?. Today on this night of November 2012, may my words be recorded for posterity. Meritocracy is not a reality in Mauritius. Not later than the past week, a Chief Inspector of the Mauritian Police force was transferred to another post. Just some days before that, he filed a case in the supreme court to make a syndicate for the policemen a possibility. Strange coincidence!. I am a skeptical person. I do not believe in coincidences.

The education sector is plagued with persons who favor people of their race or same ethnicity. This is utterly disgusting for the young generation who have being subject to the "1 sel lepep, 1 sel nation" slogan. 1 sel lepep 1 sel nation is just apparently for the folkloric part of Mauritius whilst some people continue to make places for their children and grand children and prospering on the back of the Mauritius who despite having completed their degrees cannot get jobs !. Let alone jobs, they are not even called for interviews.

In 2012, The intelligentsia of the Island is seemingly pushing the island towards a French copy of Democracy. I am not against. But, I got my reserves. Their is absolutely no problems in removing the Best Loser System, but with the racist minded people who are infiltrated all the levels of power, what proof do we have that minorities will be treated equally ?.

When the Mauritians will have the courage to give to minorities the top jobs in government and top posts in the para public bodies, then maybe we might sit down at the same table and discuss about the problems affecting the Island on a same leveled ground. But right now, what is the use of removing the Best loser system ?. Better, what is the sudden urge to do so ?.

The Intelligentsia of the Island not only puts forward the idea of a No best loser political system but also puts forward a system where the leader of a party will be given the power to CHOOSE people who will enter the national assembly without being a representative of the people. This is simply defeating the purpose of democracy. The purpose of having a national assembly is to have persons to represent the people of the country. A leader represents a voice. The voice of the people.
The hypothesis that the political arena of Mauritius is controlled by a cartel does hold. If you go back in history and see who has been reigning and the main names in the top leadership roles, you will find that most of the times, it has been the same families. We are not against having some families to control the country specially if their competent to do so. But, again, what proof do we have that others will have the chance to do so one day if they have the competencies do so?.

Absolutely no guarantees.

The Mauritian Intelligentsia is failing the Mauritians by adopting and copying and pasting things what are done elsewhere but without taking into account the wants and needs of the Mauritians. After the abolition of the abortion, we now have the abolition of the best loser system in the pipeline.
Mark my words.
The future debates will be based on taking Mauritius to a secular state. A dream for those who are so found of France and its République "laique". The French, by the way, are having debates each and every week about their laicité since it is nowadays proving to be quite difficult to control. It is easy to have a secular state when a lot of the inhabitants do not follow a religious guideline for their day to day life. But see, in Mauritius people are very much religious and holds to their culture. Why does the intelligentsia want to change that ?.

Why does the intelligentsia wants to make Mauritius a secular state ?. Will that annihilate any kind of favoritism or racism ?. I wonder !. Since more than a century now that France is a secular state, why are there organisations like Stop Racism ! or Touche pas à mon pote ! in France!. Why is their such uprising of racism against the migrants or to name them, the muslims. Why is it so difficult to build a mosque in France ?

Therefore, Changing to a secular state to annihilate racism does not hold as can be proven by the French case.

To Annihilate racism in Mauritius, the only remedy would be to introduce a real meritocratic state with Meritocracy as the rule of thumb at all levels whether in government bodies, educational bodies or private sector.

This is an opinion post. My opinions might change with time and I do not take responsibility for hurting anyone who read my posts. Everyone who read the post is free to do so and is free to have a different opinion. But for the time being and without something better being proposed, I will stick to my opinions.

Parti Malin Meeting 1er Mai Delire !

Courtesy of mopays2012

Chronicles of a Mauritian Dream ! Because we deserve it !

The chronicles of a Mauritian Dream, As an student of the post independence Mauritius, we have been formed and trained to write essays and stories to show our interpretation of facts, creativity or simple knowledge of using words and being made able to express ourselves. However, We have also been molded, shaped, formed to view the world by what we have been fed as literature. I tend to think that what we read affects our thinking. I am not saying that people who do not read, do not think. Far from that. I am saying here that what people read make them react or act in a different way than what they would have if they didn't read something in particular.
Why Chronicles?
Chronicles of a Mauritian Dream because a chronicle, is dependent on what the chronicler sees as important in contrast to a narrative or history whereby the purpose of the chronicle is to record events in the perspective of the author. Thus in a wide generality most bloggers make chronicles.
The Mauritian Dream is all the things that have been promised to the Mauritians since the Independence that have never been achieved. The Mauritian Dream is about a society where
  • all individuals would have the same rights
  • you can live your faith without being subject to racism
  • being elected for who you are and for the ideas you represent
  • you are able to get a job based on your competencies rather than on the number of connections you have with persons
  • you are able to work in the government and criticise them when they are doing no good
  • you are able to buy all what you need and want in a year and still have some money left aside
  • you are given the opportunity to develop your skills and make what you want of your life
  • working is a pleasure
  • every child is given the same chances to succeed
  • finding a job is just a step after the university
  • taking the public transport is a pleasure
By dirt of repelling we come to spouse what we hate the most

 A bon entendeur! Salut !

Mauritius, an SSR state ? SSR roads, airport.. ?

Mauritius, an SSR state? It is a question worth millions!. Most of the teenagers and 20'ers today have known Rambo a.k.a "lion pa manze lherbe" as their Prime Minister for more than around half of their lives or more. Meaning nearly their whole adult life!. Whatever psychologists and experts might claim, this plays a lot on the psychology of that segment of the population of the country.

Which brings us to the saying of French political philosopher Alexis de Tocqueville (1805-1859) “In democracy we get the government we deserve”. He's right. And that's exactly what we have seen the past week. A member of parliament claiming that in the end he was "only saying what his audience wanted to hear". Yes, People serve politicians and help them to get elected in order to benefit from them in the end. This is the Mauritian reality and that's true for most countries around the globe.
To be honest we cannot blame the guy for we all know that it is not his fault but the fault of those "followers" a.k.a "rodere boute - [eng] looking for a share" who force politicians to act in that way.

Click on image for enlarged version
"We must serve before we can lead.", said William Arthur Ward, In Mauritius this is not a pre-requisite to entering the political scene. Of course, we cannot be absolutely against it since we would all prefer in a certain way to trust the reigns of our country in the hands of PhD and degree holders ( in other words Doctors) rather than people who can talk only approximately a bit of english or french (this is not the best for maintaining international relationships) !.

We need persons who have experience of the political scene, who have gained experience through long battles defending others, but in the end what we need really is persons who we can trust first and foremost.
Coming back to our title, Mauritius is an S.S.R state with S.S.R roads, hospital, memorials, monuments, school books and what not ! . I will in no way scratch the personality of such a great man. But, we should always keep things under control. Excesses and Extreme attitudes bring inevitably to unlimited damages. Our elders have their word on that. Please check out the video below !.

Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Studies
As I said above, I have absolutely nothing against the "father of the nation", having not known him. But, it is in the end the attitude of the "rodere boute" that leads to excesses!. What is the use for having Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Studies at the University of Mauritius. I would tend to think that it is definitely not Navin Ramgoolam who asked for this to be implemented. I honestly fail to understand the scope of work that the persons having that certificate would have. S.S.R is a part of our national history, not the history of the country or the story of the independence on its own. He fought for our independence, but he was not alone. A large segment of the country was behind him. Giving all credits to one man is undeniably denying the rest of the population the right to say that we are Mauritians.
I wrote an article a long time back about what if we didn't ask for our independence check the link just below:

Wanted:15000 youngsters, my 2 cents !

Wanted: 15000 youngsters to save our Future !. is an initiative that has caught a lot of attention since it started some 10 days back. The group, it should be noted, was heavily publicized by the local press. Present in nearly all the newspapers of last Sunday, the event was kind of much awaited by all the journalists!. I felt they were biased.
Since I started this blog many years back, I wrote several articles on the Mauritian politics and finally I felt that this event could change things. Push things forward. I discussed with the guys participating in the group and most of them seemed to be rallying against all existing parties which I found surprisingly extraordinary!. How come so many people against all the actual parties!. I nevertheless tried to add my "block on the wall" but it was not appreciated that I tried to find a name for the group. One thing led another and I left the group as I was disgusted.

Many of you reading this article, have been reading my posts since years now and I will not write a bias article just for the sake of getting even!. After a while, I joined back the group and thought it would not be fair to get crossed with many of my friends in there for just a single person. The persons participating in the discussions talk as if they are going to wipe away the political system of the country by doing a march in the streets of Port Louis. This is not at all ridiculous. But, they neither have the leader who can lead the way to at least 100k people down the place d'armes nor the right timing.

I have always tried to remain unbiased. This blog is quite the reflection of that. One cannot be truthful, trustworthy or honest if he takes position for a group on the grounds that "they need it" or for the "interest of the country"!. Come on! That's the kind of dialogues politicians make!. The new generation should not fall into that abyss !.

Another group, Wanted: 15000 youngsters to learn the word democracy came into the game. The group is much more the opposite of the other one. Trying to give the "real" image of what should have been done and so on. Eventually, the new group gathered 5000 persons in less than 48 hours ! which is quite a feat you would agree ! Even if you are not really with them!. What is much appreciated in that group however is the fact that most discussions are tolerated and the attitude of "Against all actual parties" is not the rule among the participants. However, they do not tolerate blaming them and delete posts sometimes which is quite regrettable and against the "democracy" they are trying to put forward.
Some other contributors added themselves up to this group, namely Sedley Assonne author of a very well written article - Pourquoi je ne soutiens pas les 15000 Jeunes
Yashvin a well known mauritian blogger also wrote on this - Are you among the 15000 youngsters ?
The doublethink blog also commented on this event - La revolution n'aura pas lieu
Bruno Lebon - Also a Mauritian Blogger - Why the 'pacific' protest will be a flop

Most of the Mauritian bloggers and other usual writers either do not support the 15000 youngsters or do not want to get involved for the following reasons:
  • They doubt the sincerity of  "SOME" of the leaders of the group
  • Noor Adam Essack was pushed aside as he himself wrote and many tend to think that they can push aside a founder of the movement! They can push aside nearly anyone and anytime.
  • Some of the leaders have tainted backgrounds / past.
  • Many of the persons supporting the march are foreigners and the Mauritian bloggers are in Mauritius and do not want to "paye les pots casser" since the people abroad will not be bothered! But Mauritians might land in trouble for their opinions.
  • Many persons use fake profiles and pictures and National Security agents are also involved into the group.
  • The "against all political parties" attitude while the group is saying that it is "apolitique".
  • A lot of the youngsters do not know or know very little about the cause they have been added into and are going to the "march" without knowing what is going to happen next and what will this turn into.
  • The points that the group rely on are vague.
Most of the persons going for this march got involved for the following reasons as to what it seemed to me:
  • They want a better future for the new generation and the generations to come.
  • They want to stop corruptions by politicians and others who use their status and power to corrupt.
  • They want to stop the infinite circle of alliances between the 3 main parties in power since the independence.
  • They want to walk in solidarity with the poor of our country who deserve better.
  • They want to be part of something that will probably not happen anywhere soon around.
The manifest of the group Wanted: 15000 youngsters to save our future can be seen > here < with more points.

Conclusion: We should never judge people. We should go for the march and see if it can change our future. If, in any case it is not worthwhile. Does not matter. We would have tried !. But if it works out to be the beginning of a lot of changes, then it is our country and the future generations who will be better off. Let's not shoot them in their legs and cross fingers.

Please Feel free to comment below and Share on FB or elsewhere using the buttons below.. If there are errors in the article, feel free to point them out and I will take immediate actions to rectify them.. Thanking you for your supports through the years and I hope that you continue to read my posts.. !
Cheers ! :) Port Louis Welcomes you all ..

Mauritian Media making Politicians !

Advertisement in any newspaper has a price. Whether it is a great product or a product being launched. Ads have always been one of the methods used by the Mass Media to cover part of their expenses since the selling price of the newspapers is much more than the cost price. The publication companies thus have to decrease the cost price by putting in a lot of ads.

I was surprised this morning to find an article on some cousin of a deputy in a Lexpress newspaper. Nothing weird about that except that the person in question is just out of university and going into politics in the opposing party as most of her family members. Does that need an article ?.

If only it was only that. Another newspaper, very well known for its shocking headlines, published last week a article on its website about a young lady. The whole article was giving information about her, her family, her professional experiences and nothing more. I read again the whole article to see what made her deserve a place an article. Well nothing !. I was like the 7 others commenting on this article asking what did she do to deserve an article ! Well nothing !.
This is the so-called ethics of the newspapers in Mauritius. They make articles to promote people. What if they wanted to make articles to promote their point of views, their opinions ? Would you know about it ?

I can bet you wouldn't. Newspapers have been shaping the political scene of Mauritius since decades and when they are disputed that right, they say that they are denied their freedom of expression. Never thought journalists would stoop so low.
Advertisements are Put as Articles ! On internet this is called SCAM

MedPoint Scandal ! My 2 cents

The "Medpoint" scandal as I have preferred to call it, unlike many so-called journalists, who prefer the word saga. Saga it is, all scandals are, but not all saga are scandals. The main actors of this scandal are the following persons (in order of appearance):
  • Mrs. Maya Hanoomanjee
  • Mr. Pravind Jugnauth
  • Mr. Paul Raymond Berenger
  • Mr. Navin Ramgoolam
  • Mr. Eric Guimbeau
  • Mr. Showkutally Soodhun
On an ethnic point of view, at first sight, the P.M.S.D can rightly protest since their is no member of the population general in the lot !. (sorry for the so-called republicans or whatever, everything is still analysed ethnically in Mauritius!)
We have not seen everything yet in this affair. It looks more to me like an "affair" than anything else. We have Money ! Woman ! Power ! .. Anyway, we will not dig deep into it, wondering what kind of our secrets lies beneath.

It all started with some teasing of the Leader of the opposition about the Medpoint deal, It was the least expected that the leader of the opposition would ask questions about Rs144millions being given to the Jugnauths who are themselves the sellers !. No questions from the leader of the opposition would simply mean that he is part of it. --> (1st point: He's not part of it since he was the one to start the revelations.)

Mr. Jeetah, who is since sometimes unseen from the national tv for some dark reasons, was the one to initiate the buying of the medpoint. He is then removed this ministry by the Dr. N. Ramgoolam. The latter gives the ministry to Mrs. M. Hanoomajee !. (2nd point: Do you put a rat in a cheese room?)

Mrs. Hanoomanjee asks Mr. P. Jugnauth for a provision of Rs150 millions for the budget when the evaluation of the deal is for only Rs75 millions.. Why does she ask for twice the amount ?
(3rd point: The re-evaluation of the clinic which comes days after, estimates the clinic at Rs144 m, twice much !)

I.C.A.C arrests the Minister and she is released. Did the I.C.A.C has enough suspicions and proofs to arrest her ? In my opinion, yes !.

The leader of the M.S.M decides to quit the government alongside the 4 other ministers. ( I need to add, the other 4 ministers were not proposed to quit or not, they were simply forced to quit)
Mrs. Hanoomanjee who looked more like a lioness trying to eat up all her opponents some months back from doctors to nurses was seen to be in deep reflexion (Shit) at the press conference of the M.S.M, which is quite confusing.
The PM came back from UK and has shown that he will definitely not accept any kind of allegations against the I.C.A.C and that the I.C.A.C should be able to work at ease. All persons cited above are described as being innocent unless proved otherwise. I excuse myself for any misunderstandings, which may arise since I have absolutely no intentions whatsoever of depicting any of them as being guilty.

As a Mauritian, all we can do now is to wish that justice prevails even if rich, powerful and respected families have to go down. For the sake of democracy and the people's trust in the judiciary system of the country, A fair trial should be done.

Your Comments on this Whole Shitty affair are the most welcomed ! Express yourself freely.

Press Conference: The PM has scheduled a press conference at 15h45 on the 6th of August 2011.

Attack on Libya starting .. [Breaking News]

The colonel has made a last attempt to reconquer benghazi yesterday night just before the UN decides to put up the No fly-zone resolution. The russians who were discretely supporting libya's colonel gaddafi was slowing the negociation in order to give time for Libya's top man to regain power over large extents of the country.
Legally, the UN forces or any other armed forces in the region are now free to help the Libyan people in any way that is deemed necessary. France, United Kingdom, and USA are waiting for their Arab allies in the region to lead the attack on Libya. They are mandated now by the UN to protect the No fly-zone. The vote has been passed at 11pm GMT.

The UE and Arab League top members are to meet each other for a meeting today to decide the next steps. But France has already gathered all facilities to strike Libya in the first hours as soon as the UN adopts the resolution. That's all for now. Let's pray for the people of Libya and on this day to be remembered. May Libya be freed.

Khadafi, Freemasons, MMM, Lexpress and Maldives!

Khadafi, Freemasons, MMM, Lexpress newspaper and the maldives, what do all of these have to do with us ? or if you prefer with Mauritius ?. They are all linked to Mauritius indeed now, in the past and probably in the future. The Khadafi family for example have reigned for 4 decades on libya and invested the oil dollars in hundreds of companies worldwide with the approval of governments under the foreign direct investment. Mauritius, through his ex-finance minister, has been bragging a lot about its record FDI ! over the past 5 years. Where does that money come from ?. Odds are that some of them come from libya under US / UK / CH based companies..

Khadafi's sons come to Mauritius on Business / Holidays

While the Khadafi family is killing hundreds of people and bombarding entire villages in libya, our local newspaper L'express dimanche gives 2-3 pages solely on the business of the khadafi. The business of the khadafi ? Isn't that libyan money that they are stealing and using as their own ?. What do we care about the business of the khadafi family ? They spend millions in hotels in Mauritius. So what ?. When they kill others, we should still open our doors to criminals for them to have leisure time here ?. The L'express newspaper should have instead put 3 pages of pictures of the dead people and published an article on the european countries who are supporting the bloodshed in libya by refusing to take action. The UN are also to be blamed. They are waiting for a genocide like in sarajevo or kosovo to react ?.

Freemasonry in Mauritius
Freemasonry has been a very secret society in Mauritius since its beginning. The sect is very secretive all around the world for special reasons. It is a network of people who are well off and at the top of companies and parastatal bodies in Mauritius and all around the world. The Freemasonry sect had a lot of problems in France where judges were sentenced for "traffic d'influence". They used their network of contacts to promote people who are in their brotherhood and dismiss cases where their people are accused. That's for the cases in France. In Mauritius, it would be completely illegal to act in such manners too. However, here it would be more likely be an offend to the equal opportunities act and the sex discrimination act.
Why the sex discrimination act? simply because only males are accepted in the Freemasonry sect.

The Media (Lexpress) prepared the population with a familiarization step some months ago. The article explained with some details the practices of the Freemasonry without going much in detail. This was a step whereby the Mauritians would get some kind of curiosity for the sect.
This week the Grand Master of the sect gave an interview to L'express ! and from his answers, you can smell that it is someone who knows marketing. He plays with the words he uses and makes the sect appealing without doing too much in order to keep your curiosity wide open.

Harish Boodhoo, L'express and The Freemasonry
The timing for this interview came just in time !.. to counter attack the arguments of Harish Boodhoo who is defaming the people who are attached to the Freemasonry society in Mauritius. Harish Boodhoo talked in front of 3000 persons in front of the Sun Trust Bldg and The L'express newspaper wrote that their were 300 persons at the meeting !. The article was only 1/4 (one quarter) of the page. For a man who is gathering day after day more people. A quarter of a page is more than disgusting for a nearly 80pages weekly. Simply stunning. But that's only the start of it. Read more ..

MMM and L'express
The MMM who is no more able to gather as much people as before is losing speed everywhere around Mauritius and will seemingly lose the next municipal elections if trends go like this. And who is grasping marks on the political scene ? Harish Boodhoo. While the newspaper gives only 1/4 of a page to Bhai Harish. A whole article is written for Paul Berenger and that he should leave the place for others. A whole rebranding strategy written for MMM from L'express first page !. Who cared about MMM and its sinking boat this week?. This is typically what is happening in Arab countries. While the populations are asking for other people at the head of the state. The governments are kicking off the top figures and keeping the others. The arabs were not stupid enough to gulp the farce. Do they think the Mauritians will ?. The Mauritians want new faces at the government. And that's it. And what's more hilarious, the paper itself gave the name of the job that PRB could take afterwards !.. "senior statesman" ! Let me laugh.

The father sold it to the US, What if the son sells it to the Maldives ?
The Maldivian president Mohamed Nasheed is in Mauritius for a couple of days as he was "invited" as guest of honor for the Independance day. But this is absolutely no coincidence. Mauritius is fighting over the sovereignship of Diego archipelago and the Maldives are looking for a land of hope since their islands are supposed to disappear in 3-4 decades with the rise of sea level. The Maldives are however not begging for a piece of land in batterie casser or Gris gris!. They have put up a plan since a decade already. A percentage of the profits they obtain from the tourism activities are put into that fund so that they can buy a place to live afterwards. They have been prospecting to buy a piece of Ethiopia in the past. But, the people of Maldives would definitely not be able to adapt with the locals and the climate. One great solution for them would be the Diego archipelago which can be sold or rented to them as long as they build tourism industry there with their funds and pay the Mauritian government a rent. This would create jobs for Mauritians and at the same time bring Money to the Mauritian economy with no investments. This is the kind of deal that Ramgoolam and Nasheed could be pondering over.

My Word:
We are assisting to Media conspiracies whereby the population is kept in the dark in order to be kept under control. The Mauritians are kept on the dark also on the Libyan crisis which might gives ideas or inspire the Mauritians to rebel against the power for a true democracy. The opposition seems as days are passing by to be an opposition which only reacts to events. Like the Medpoint scandal for example. Since the past elections, the leader of the opposition has not been very ferocious against the government and neither has the opposition members been convincing in their role either. As a fellow citizen of this banana republic, we should at focusing on all the details that the media is trying to force down our throats.

Boodhoo, Cehl Meeah, Tsunamis et Independance Day !

The 11th of March 2011 is a day that will be remembered in history, and writing this article is my way of engraving it into history. Harish Boodhoo who was being called " L'homme fort de belle terre " is now mostly being referred in articles as the "Ex- Vice Prime Minister". This is not a mere coincidence. Most readers would not even pay attention to this insignificant change, but it does play with the brains of everyone unknowingly.. Because the media is trying to tell you that this man is no more "L'homme fort" but merely an Ex politician !..
Why such a change ? Simply because Harris Boodhoo has started doing meetings on political matters in order to make the population conscious of several scandals that is happening in our society. The meeting in front of Sun Trust building gathered 3000 persons within me and it was confirmed by Defimedia.info . This figure however is less than the actual audience who left the meeting mid-way in order to catch up with buses for those who live far away.
Also present at the meeting of Harish Boodhoo were Salim Muthy, Georges Ah-Yan and Eddy Sadien who criticized ferociously the government and other parastatal bodies. Boodhoo denounced the alleged fraudulous transactions of Pravind Jugnauth and other scandals linked to the latter. He also took a minute to thank all the people who came for his meeting. He said that he has written to the ICAC and hopes Pravin Jugnauth is arrested by the coming Monday. Harish Boodhoo's next meeting is in front of the MBC-Tv malpropre at reduit on the 18th of March at 4pm. The man of belle terre also criticized the freemasonry brotherhood in Mauritius and suggested that a law should be promulgated like in Britain so that they declare their affiliation to the freemasonry society.

Cehl Meeah gets into the fight against corruption
Cehl Meeah has asked his followers to side with the truth that Harish boodhoo is unveiling and attend the meetings in order to stop any degradation of public order in the region. Many supporters of Cehl Meeah were at the Centre Goomany at P.Verte and in front of Sun trust Bldg for the meetings of harish boodhoo. Cehl Meeah made a public speech in which he criticized severely the government for not clearing the taxes of Rs450,000 on food containers he obtained as donations from abroad for the poor people of Port Louis. Most of which would have been sent to Roche Bois and Upper Valle Pitot which are the 2 main needy regions of Port Louis. He also commented on some information suggesting that Pravin Jugnauth obtained information on frauds of Rs5Billions of Navin Ramgoolam which has forced the latter to accept the MSM for an alliance in the 2010 elections. He further claimed that the "rodage" period at the parliament is over and he will start putting tough questions. The Leader of FSM aims to organize a march on the roads of Port Louis by the end of the month to protest against corruption.

Terrible Tsunamis and earthquakes in Japan
The earthquakes in Japan have given rise to Tsunamis which has washed across the coasts of Japan and inland yesterday. The buildings which were built to resist earthquakes perfomed marvellously well. However, the nuclear facilities of Japan were badly struck. One of them has leaks and the radiation is 1000 times above the normal around the site. The army has been sent to secure the zone and more than 30,000 persons have been asked to move away for their own security.
Japan depends highly on nuclear power for electricity and the stock market dropped precipitously after the earthquake. The Nikkei will suffer a lot in the days to come.

Independence Day !
43 years of independence from the british rulers. Maybe this is how it should be taken. We have changed from british colony to a colony of parties !. Parties which have not changed since the independence day in 1968.
What a great independence day was it ?
For the 20 'ers and even 40'ers, little do we know about how Mauritius obtained independence. Only the 60'ers and above know really what happened at the time. Et encore ! For those who are die-hard of the parties, they would never admit what happened was a true farce. 56% only of the population agreed to Mauritius becoming independent at the time. Has this changed a lot since then ?
Sir Abdool Razack Mohamed, the leader of the Muslim Comittee of Action (CAM), sided with MLP and IFB thus giving them a majority at the parliament. This gave rise to tensions between the muslim and creole communities as the latter supported Gaetan Duval and Jules Koenig lost the elections.

My word:
Mauritius obtained its independence, that's a fact and we are all Mauritians now and we have to live as Mauritians. Their is no going back. But, we should fight for a true independence from the people who have seized all the political and decision taking powers since the elections of 1967. Mauritius needs a 3rd real political force and not an opposition which is sometimes with the government and sometimes against it. This game has been going on for the past 40 years and the parties have all been at one time or the other in the opposition. We need a government of the people which will uproot those corrupted personalities who are at the head of our institutions for decades.
Could that 3rd force consist of Boodhoo, Meeah and Rama Valayden ?? and Party Malin?? :)

Harrish Boodhoo reveals the truth !

Harish Boodhoo, as many of my generation came to know him, is a man who is very down to earth and speaks his heart out. Whether before the elections in 2010 or during the MedPoint Saga. Like, many others, not yet on this earth at the time the guy was at the Government House, I came to learn about his story like many 20 agers in the newspapers and some other forums. He seem to me to be someone who is willing despite his age to spark an uprising in the Mauritian society and chase away some politicians who have been ruling since many decades.
The man is going for many meetings in order to make the people of mauritius know what has been hidden from them since such a long time.
Why not support that ? why not hear what he got to say ?
Check out the venues and topics below..
[please click on the picture to view the larger version]

Harish Boodhoo for the sake of the awareness of the Mauritian people is fighting single handedly with the supports of a very few against the well oiled gears of the government and other parties.

To support Harish Boodhoo or not, that's up to you .. All I am saying here is that the man is fighiting for a truth, and we know that what he is saying does make sense. I am not asking anyone to side with the man. But, it would be worthwhile if the people of the republic of mauritius could side with the truth and fight for it ! ..

Why not now ?
Could this be an uprising to a 2nd republic ?
