New Jeetoo Hospital and Disgusting Toilets #FAIL

The A. G. Jeetoo Hospital located in Port Louis, has been renovated or should be say rebuilt to meet international standards. As we can read from the government's website "The project, estimated at about Rs 1.5 billion, is expected to be completed by October 2010." Dated Oct 17, 2008

We are in February 2012 and the works have not yet been completed and it is a pity to see that a hospital that has not yet been completed and which should meet international standards is in such a state !. What can be expect from the other older hospitals of the island ?

I agree that the finish and overall design is very beautiful to the eyes. But what is the use of having INOX handrails and dazzling reception desks while something useful like a TOILET is not taken care of ?

The toilets are a real pity as you can see on the pictures. The hospital should be a place free from contamination, you go there to get treated not to get infected.

myjob.mu Hacked ! Conspiracy?

Simply an awful scenario for the large number of fresh university graduates who are going to graduate in a couple of weeks and looking for a job via the myjob.mu portal. The myjob.mu website is the most viewed website for job search in Mauritius.It has through the years become the most used website by employers to search for new recruits and for employees to look for new jobs. The website provides a lot of features which are useful for fresh graduates or school leavers.

The only direct rival of the myjob.mu is the jobsite.mu website which is the least we can say, quite lame compared to the full featured myjob.mu website. It wasn't that safe in the end though. The server has been hacked and now the thousands of persons waiting for a reply might have to wait a long deal before obtaining a first interview.

The success of the myjob website is mostly due to the fact their was a great need of a medium or a platform if you prefer between the employers and those looking for a job. And the myjob solution came in at the right time to fulfill that demand.

The recent arrival of the orange jobs feature of the orange website and the hacking of the myjob.mu website give however rise to some doubts. The timing seem to be perfect for the launch of an alternative service !.

The website is back online but now you can have doubts if your personal data on its server are safe or not! Indeed, now you have absolutely no trust in the website for keeping your files confidential and secure!.

I will not comment on the Worldwide events but having seen what is happening lastly, we can deduce that the world has really gone upside down. Transferanum - What does it mean ?

Transferanum - A word seemingly of latin origin, that not many know the complete sense in the era we are living, for the simple reason that we do not yet know what it is. 

Transferanum - A combined word of Transfer and Anum - The literal sense would mean Transfer between times / era/ dimensions/ age- This word is unknown to us yet. But, the sense of it is already present in our imagination, in our mind. 

Transferanum - Curve the Time to Transfer between the Ages.

Most of those who are used to science-fiction ( sci-fi ) movies would have a broader idea of what that means. The transfer between ages can be seen in well known series like Lost or Stargate. Transfer between ages does not only mean to transfer between ages in the same place we are now but also transfer from planet to planet. When we know that the distance to travel from one planet to another one is measured in light years. It is easy to imagine that we could transfer in time by remaining at the same place and transfer to another planet. That wouldn't be that much of unlogical or unprobable. As the theory of Einstein that instead of going from a point A to a point B. along a straight path. We could curve down the path and the 2 points would be nearer.

Transferanum V/S Transferium

The Transferanum is the transfer between ages while the transferium, is the place where this is done. Typically a laboratory or Military base.

That's the point I am getting to. If we can Transfer in time to such a point that we are 200-500million years back. We would be at the creation of the Universe. Without having to go and explore other places.  

Transferanum is a word I invented and I am the sole owner of this word. Any body wishing to use this word for commercial purposes should contact me ! Just in case some people are thinking are making a movie with that name or with an apparatus in it called that name. This is my property and whoever uses it should require by consent.

Top Ten places to visit in Mauritius

Here we go, most tourists coming to Mauritius want a quick guide where to go and what to see in Mauritius .. Since it is a Top Ten .. Many places will not be included .. and Many places most people would say are a must to visit .. well .. u can suggest that in the comments .. our friends from germany, france, uk, indonesia would be really glad knowing those and checking out :)

So, let's get started: 

• Port Louis Waterfront

Many would have bet that place would be on my top ten .. lolz.. The main reason is because .. It is the only place in the whole island where you have the largest choice of foods and cuisines and can have a taste of chinese/indian/creole/mauritian/thai/american/French... cuisines and a nice place to catch up on football matches at the pubs at night. Also, Loads of duty free shops .. The best place for shopping ;) The Port Louis  bazaar is meters away.. you can check out there for nicer prices :) and if you are a fan of stamps, there's the blue penny museum ;)

• Grand Bay & Pereybere

Grand Bay is the main touristic village in the north .. It is also the main place for night life in Mauritius, so if you coming to Mauritius and want to have fun. Then, surely, .. you would want to go there. I added Pereybere which is some miles away from g.bay, It is in my top 3 beaches of Mauritius.. I would have said it is nicest beach of Mauritius but I wouldn't want to discourage you from visiting the other beaches ! lolz.

• The Black River Gorges & National Park

For that one you will need to be adventurous, cannot find any other words !! lolz.. Well, If you are into hiking and nature, This place is for you. Anyway, you ain't thinking of Mauritius only for the beaches, So .. check this place out.. Very nice place.. Superb views, Long trails into the woods.. Superb place for romance.. If you see what I mean ! lolz..Further down the gorges you will end up in the National Park. Or, you can prefer to go the other way round, from the National Park and Climbing up the gorges..

• Pamplemousses Botanical Garden

The Botanical garden of Mauritius, there's actually two botanical gardens, 1 in Curepipe and 1 in Pamplemousses, you can visit both if you want. The one at Pamplemousses one is the biggest one and there's the small building they call a castle inside. Even if you are not into plants, you will surely find this place nice to visit, have a walk and see the different stuffs which are found only in Mauritius. 

• Naval Museum of Mahebourg and Dutch Ruins At Vieux Grand port. 

 This place isreally nice to visit, it is free entry to everyone, got nice stuffs inside.. The Dutch Ruins .. are as you might have guessed .. simply ruins !! lolz.. but that's a nice place to take pictures too ..

• Le Morne 

The Le Morne Brabant is found in the south of the island. It is a place with not many people living around but mostly hotels. There you will find the Le Morne mountain which is classified by the World Heritage comittee of the U.N. Many slaves used to go there to escape from their masters and many dived from the mountain to escape the atrocities of slavery. There are many nice viewpoints in the area .. you can go south to La prairie and take a long drive on the south coast of the island with even nicer viewpoints.

• La roche qui pleure / Souffleur

 This place is really amazing, superb views, resembles scotland's farmlands and cliffs .. a mix of the two .. The big waves are unique to Mauritius though. The rocks are porous and at each backslash you will hear the rocks breathing. Really amazing.

Midlands.. Nice memories .. Mist on the Moors .. hehe .. I will only put one picture on this post.. check out the  post I made on that wonderful place :)

• Chamarel

Also known as the 7 colored earth, There's a piece of land there where you have 7 colored soils. They sell it as souvenirs too. It is a nice place to go to. Wonder if they still sell it though ! .. lolz...

• Signal Mountain

It is one of the mountains that surround the City of Port Louis, The view at the top of the mountain is simply fabulous .. there is a road to up of the mountain where a lot of people do jogging every evening. Also the mountain has that name since there's a tv/radio station at the top. The view from the top at night is really nice but you might need a torch to walk back down .. lolz..

• Sept Cascades

 For this one, you will probably need some meters of climbing cords, pairs of nice shoes, your swimming suit, .. your camping stuffs and food !.. yea .. you will need all that if you really want to go there. It is one of the most dangerous and thrilling places in Mauritius. If you want to get back home for dinner, you might also want to take a torch. But, if you are on holidays, and don't bother about time, just take a small tent and camp down the valley. Hmm.. Very important, Take a guide if you are not used to hiking, you might die down there, The place is VERY DANGEROUS. 

First, you will need to figure where henrietta is on a map, you go there. It is free of access. Just ask the farmers around and they will tell you which way to go. It is easier to go down than to come up. Remember that. The way you take to go down, you might not want to take the same way up. 

The Easiest way would be to climb down the seven waterfalls and then go up by climbing some way up the valley. The water in the pools made in the rocks are simply extraordinary. I spent nearly 1 hour in one of those, there was even a small waterfall with water flowing on my head.. Superb time. 

I would recommend you to arrive there around 8am. We did the climbing down and climbing up from 8am to 6pm. Just in Time !!! why ?? Because 6pm the sun was setting down !! and with no light .. It is IMPOSSIBLE to climb up. You need to be fit to go down there. Take some pills so that your legs don't tremble, it could cost your life.

Which OS to choose ??

Ubuntu 10.03 Lts is a free OS which is even shipped to you freely by canonical, It is a robust operating system which can be used from the Live CD without installing anything on your hard drive. Or you can install it on a partition. Something which is not possible to do with a MAC operating system. However, you can try installing the Mac OS on a hard drive and ghost it a partition.

My review of the Ubuntu OS:

The Ubuntu OS provides a lot of nice softwares for disk partitioning, video editing and system management. It is thus one of the best OS to choose for a small business( or you might want to try fedora or CentOS). The games are nice and Ubuntu has a software repository embedded inside for quick installation of softwares and updates. The main advantages of Linux V/S Windows OS are known to all of us. 

But it is about the main disadvantages that i had to face that i will relate to you.

Most of the people using messengers, are on either windows live messenger or yahoo messenger. Some also like the versatility of Trillian Astra to provide for social updates from Facebook or Twitter. But the main problem that some might have faced and which I did too, was to get a videocall connection from my Ubuntu OS to someone using Vista OS and WLM.

Amazing as it might seem, there is to date, no programs which can do the connection from ubuntu to a computer under Windows using Windows Live Messenger !!

This is one of the main lacks of Ubuntu, and all those using videocall, would not want to shift to Ubuntu.

One of the Solutions would have been to use windows live messenger on ubuntu with WINE, but this is not really a solution since the softwares are not stable and crashes.

With the ageing of the XP, There were absolutely no alternatives. The secured XP with the millions of softwares, probably the most succesful OS of all times had to give way and had done its time. I needed a change but for what ? and what could be that OS that would allow for the connection to the windows live messenger. After having probed the use of Mac OS and the difficulties to install it without erasing my windows XP which is still to me the best OS. 

I finally choosed to try Windows 7 !! 

My first impression of Windows 7: Amazing. 

I was amazed from the installation of the operating system till the loading and updating of the files. The installation was seemingly quicker than that of windows XP !! a little more than Ubuntu though. But I kept in mind that it was a 2.49gb file that i downloaded !! .. compared to the 700mb cd of Ubuntu ! The win 7 OS installed in around twice much time but it was really impressive. 

Finally, the loading of the OS was quite rapid from what i was expecting. The log in was not that much impressive but we can't get everything ! However, the functionality and the many new features of win7 made me like it. The fastness with which programs loaded was really nice. Not to mention the speed of downloads which were more quick than under windows XP. The 80mb updates downloaded in around 4minutes !! 

My second impression of Windows 7: This is what I needed.

However, I did not forget why I installed this OS primarily. It was for videocalling. So, the next day, I tried the videocalling. Amazingly quick to connect. Everything was smooth. All programs running. The Win7 looked like a brand new car which well oiled pistons right from the showroom.

My third impression of Windows 7: Houston, we got a problem !! 

And then I tried firefox !! This is where the dream turned into a nightmare!!.. The google on firefox seemed to be playing with my nerves in the beginning. It was giving stupid results !! .. Infact, all what i looked for linked back to websites of mauritians, namely Island Crisis, yashvinblogs, .. 

I thought this was definitely not a big problem, just some settings probably, but the settings on google would not open !! wonder why ! can't find an answer to that !! 

Then, I said, let's check our gmail !! .. and there .. 404 error !! :S pheeew.. 2 days now, invalid certificate !! .. the gmail would simply not open !! .. tried nearly everything from virus scanning, deleting firefox to trying gmail.com on IE !! .. still nothing .. Wonder what the problem is.. 

So here I am , back on Win XP, the most robust and fantastic OS known to humans !! lolzz :)) 

WinXP has more bright years ahead :))

My review of Daniel Socco's book, Make Money Blogging Free eBook

Daniel Socco, the author behind this amazing book seems to be very experienced in blogging as he goes on describing all the steps that would lead you to making a successful blog.
The book is a very professional one and could be worth buying, whoever Daniel Socco wants to promote blogging and "democratization" of opinions on the net, that is probably why you can get his fantastic ebook for free.
The ebook or simply book, describes in the first chapter the common mistakes the "apprenti" blogger would make and i am sure most bloggers reading this have made the same mistakes. That is how we learn and Brian Socco has not only learned from it but proposes step by step how to setup the blog.
The book is very readable about 15-30 minutes would do. The flow and ease of reading is amazing, we could say he makes blogging easy. *smile*
He also explains how to write posts and titling your posts which most journalists should be knowing however, what they don't know is that this affects the traffic to blog as Daniel points out and also part of the SEO.
On the 2nd chapter, he explains how the blog should look like giving a vast benchmark for design specifications. However, and most of readers/bloggers would agree the design of the blog is in the end, personal and only the blogger's taste will count.

The Most IMPORTANT part of the eBook however comes now, the chapters 3 and 4, that's where you will learn from Daniel how to make your blog successful. Writing a blog post is nice, but having people reading it, is even nicer and what better than follow Daniel's advices to gather traffic around your blog.
The Least captivating part of the book is the last part, where the author, Daniel Socco, explains how to make money from your blog, and the ways he points out are quite basic ones and not much what i had expected. However, I would not deny him, the ways he pointed out would bring you money fairly if the 4 latter chapters have been successful.

Conclusion: This is a very nice eBook for beginners and intermediate bloggers which i highly recommend.

Tinted Car windows DIY- how to ?

Tinted car windows is now legalized in Mauritius since sometimes however, only the rear side windows and rear window pane can be fully tinted understand 100%.. as for the front ones .. it is 25% .. i am sure about that [Re-edited 12:30 24/07/09 lolzzz] .. but you still start with the rear windows :) Furthermore, you do not need to change your window panes .. [Read More] NOT AT ALL.. this practice is just about putting a polyester plastic film on your windows. Get some money writing in forum

Being rather curious, i have been looking ways to earn some money on the internet, however, since 1 year i have a paypal account, where i can get paid and i have been paid a single dollar till now. All surveys, referral links and other programs are useless and i have stop checking those ways to earn some money on the internet.
Rather, a friend contacted me on blogcatalog and he asked if i wanted to earn some little money, i specify well, it is really little money, wonder what i will be able to get with that, but this morning i signed up for an account at a forum, and there great was my astonishement, when a member told me that whenever i achieve BRL$200 - i will be sent $2.20 at my paypal.
Some of u will say it is useless, but honestly, writing my point of view in a forum, and getting paid for it, rather than writing everywhere on the net and not getting even $0.01 is pretty nice, furthermore they you BRL$125 and as soon as u achieve BRL$200, u get paid directly to paypal, that is direct money, no waitings and all! Each reply u post, u get around BRL$3.80 , meaning if you post 20 replies to forums, you will end up with enough to cash out.
I am not sure about what you can get for $2.20 on paypal !! But nevertheless, since i have been giving my time to internet and never got anything for it, $2.20 would be a great premier !! lolzz.. Depends on you though, those who are not greedy and would be satisfied in posting 20 posts and cash out their $2.20 can join me there ;)

Blogger Mauritius Community..

After much thought, and thinking about the consequences of removing the links from my blog roll. I decided to do it in the end. After the blogger meeting, i honestly thought that the bloggers would be making a united community of persons online which would work together and all.
But, after 2-3 weeks having updated the blog roll with Mauritian Bloggers' links, i found it astounding 2 weeks ago that on many of those blogs, other people were found in the blog rolls but NOT MINE !!! Great was my surprise ! .. Indeed, i has been displaying their blogs and websites for weeks and they didn't find it nice to put mine on their websites.

I finally decided to piss off those persons and to update my blog roll leaving them off..

Furthermore, on many discussion topics, i have come to understand that some of those bloggers were kind of racists ! .. Talking about religion and add religious beliefs of persons into talks where they had nothing to do! ..Following this experience, i henceforth urge Mauritians and my dear friends not to go to those websites.

If you ask an engineer to define a car for you, normally those are the factors that will be considered. (and the TATA nano is all That!![Except it is not an executive car;)])

This car will be in a few years, THE MUST TO HAVE !!. With the uncontrolled price rise and fall of the oil price, the need for less energy eating cars, the car is no more a luxury, atleast not for many, it is now JUST a way of transport ! .. since everyone has it, it can't be a luxury! It has become a NEED.
